If you haven’t heard the good news already, we’ve teamed up with GrowNYC to bring a very exciting program to our neighborhood: farm-fresh organic produce boxes.

Here’s how it works:

1. Each week, neighbors come in on Saturday between 10am and 2pm to place an order for a box. These vegetables (and some occasional fruits) come to us each week from Green Pasture Farms, a group of small family farms committed to sustainable and organic farming.
2. All the produce boxes are pre-paid (just $12 each!) the week before and can be ordered with cash, debit/credit card, or EBT. You have to order your box a week ahead of time. It simply takes that long for us to relay the orders back to the farms, so they can then figure out exactly how much they need to harvest, box up, and send to us by Saturday morning.
3. Everyone who placed an order returns the following Saturday to pick up their produce box. If they like what they see, they order another for next week and we do it all over again!
